GRAPPLING GUILD

Logo Development

I was approached by Andrew Brew in designing a logo for his new martial arts classes; operating under Grappling Guild - a Plymouth-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu start-up.

I was asked to create a logo with two people joining together in an arm-wrestling style, with a black BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) belt flowing around in the middle to symbolise unity.

We also agreed on having both T-shirts having the olive colour, to suggest every student being on the same team.

The main design is confined in a circle with the addition of stars along the top, an element from the Brazil flag - the country Grappling Guild’s style of Jiu-Jitsu originates from.

This is rounded off with a design of a black BJJ belt along the bottom, featuring a signature red part on the right-hand side and the Grappling Guild name in gold lettering placed in the middle.

Ideal for Andrew to use for Grappling Guild's social media profile pictures.
